I have been a blogger for FIVE years. Yesterday marked my 5-year blogiversary. I actually almost missed it (I do almost every year) except I saw another blogger celebrating her 6-year blogiversary and I thought, wonder when mine is.
You might ask – why did I start blogging? Honestly? I was bored and had time on my hands. I was unemployed (well, working part-time for a friend) and was reading a ton of blogs. I was heavy into social media (mainly Twitter) and thought – I want to try blogging. So I did. Little did I know that less than a month later I would find a job at an internet marketing company working on websites and Google Adwords. It was almost like it was meant to be.
My blog was originally named Let’s Talk and Walk (since walking was my main form of exercise) and developed into Your Path To Fit (after becoming a health coach and personal trainer). My website is a custom built WordPress site (the advantages of having a developer as my co-worker) and hosted on my office’s dedicated service (again another perk).
One thing I love about blogging in general? If there is a subject you are interested in, you can find blogs for it. I read a ton of blogs daily. I think it is a chance to see how other’s live as well as different parts of the country or even the world.

I have over 1200 posts in the past five years. In the beginning, I was posting 5-7 times per week. I am now aiming for 3-5 times per week. I blog mainly from my MacBook Pro directly in WordPress. I use Evernote to jot down ideas and keep a content calendar. I use Canva to create most of my graphics (like the one above) and use Haute Chocolate and Adobe Stock for my stock photos.
Accomplishments & More during these past 5 years:
I definitely plan to continue blogging. Don’t be surprised to see more photos since I have a new camera (check out yesterday’s post). The blog may get a slightly new look here in the near future (but nothing huge).
My next 5K should be April 30th. It should be a beautiful one so I might even carry my new camera. I also plan to get out on my bike this year – so hopefully I can get some good photos depending on where we bike. On my list for 2016 is sky diving as well!
