Google Search Console - The Visibility Method

Google Search Console

Let’s talk for a second about Google Search Console. We won’t talk much about Google Search Console in this challenge as it is mainly for the technical/backend side of your blog. However, you can learn what keywords are driving traffic to your site and that’s what I cover in the video.

Here is a quick video showing you how to use Google Search Console to find the keywords that are driving traffic to your site:

Go to Google Search Console.

Go to Search Traffic / Search Analytics.

Make Sure Clicks, Impressions, CTR, and Position are all checked.

  • Clicks – number of times a user clicks on that word/phrase and landed on your site
  • Impressions – numbers of times your site appeared in the search results for that term (so a searcher could have SEEN your site but not necessarily clicked on it)
  • CTR – click through rate (clicks / impressions)
  • Position – your organic ranking for that term

This will give you a good idea of what keywords/phrases you are ranking for and how many people are clicking through. Note: This information used to be available in Google Analytics, but they phased it out.

This is my health and fitness blog. You can see a lot of people search for Amanda Tress (I did her carb cycling challenges) and “superman challenge.”

We won’t cover any more about Google Search Console during this challenge, but I wanted you to be aware that this information exists.

Are there any surprises on your list?
