SEO Case Study: In It For The Long Haul

When this client came to me in February of 2020, she was getting 32 organic sessions a month. Her business started in January 2015.

Something different about this client is she very rarely uses social media – Linked In is her main platform.

SEO Case Study - in it for the long haul

We first started optimizing her old blogs. Three a month. We looked at ones that were working and made them better. We optimized images for site speed and SEO. We thought about what her audience was looking for.

How did this impact her traffic?

Most months saw a slight increase with a few decreases here and there. Our focus was on keeping the trend line going up. Look what happened though…

CAC Organic Increase

Some stats:

  • February 2020: 32 sessions
  • August 2021: 218 sessions (after this month we moved the client to a maintenance plan)
  • March 2022: 328 sessions

In 2021, she received:

  • 2,637 organic sessions
  • 542 social sessions (again the client doesn't use social media a ton)

That's over 387% MORE sessions from organic.

As my previous SEO case study, her growth didn't happen overnight – and yours probably won't either. But she started and we kept at it. Every single month.

Did we do the same things each month? Absolutely not. We looked to see what was working and what wasn't and made a plan. Did we panic at the drops and made drastic changes? NO.

If you've put off starting SEO, what's holding you back?

The longer you wait, the longer it will take for you to rank for your ideal keyphrases and start getting organic traffic.
